Sacraments

Visible Signs of God's Grace

According to City wide policy as established by the area pastors in 2015, all candidates for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) are to be formed in their home parish. Since the Newman Center falls within the boundaries of St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, formation for those sacraments will be the parish’s responsibility.

Baptism
For infant baptism and those up to the age of 7, please contact Ronda in the
Newman Center office at
ronda@newman-ic.org or 337-3106 ext 101.
For Adult Baptism please contact Dan Teets at St. Mary's Parish office at 319-337-4314 or dan-icstmarys@q.com

First Eucharist
Children who are participating in regular religious education classes through one of the Iowa City parishes, or who attend Regina Catholic Elementary School Sacramental Preparation classes, or participate in a home religious education program, may receive the Sacrament of First Communion at the Newman Center. For Adult Eucharist please contact Dan Teets at St. Mary Parish 319-337-4314 or dan-icstmarys@q.com

Confirmation
