Newman Center Endowments
An endowment is a donation of money or property to a nonprofit organization, which uses the resulting investment income for a specific purpose. Endowments are designed to keep the principal amount intact while using the investment income for charitable efforts. The investment funds generated by these endowments will be realized into perpetuity.
We are grateful for the leadership, foresight and generosity of those who established the following endowments at the Newman Center. Our Board of Directors, in adherence to our Investment Policy elects an annual investment income payout range of 4%. This accounts for approximately 25% of our annual budget.
Operations Endowment
The Operations Endowment is our largest endowment fund and funds from this endowment are used for operating expenses such as payroll and facility maintenance and repairs.
Outreach and Education Fund
The Outreach and Education fund provides partial funding for the salaries of our campus ministry staff who are dedicated to outreach and faith formation efforts. In 2026, we expanded our campus ministry staff to two full time and one part time positions to better meet the needs of our students.
Leroy and Mary Noel Endowment for FOCUS
The purpose of this fund is to assist with the expenses of hosting a FOCUS team here on campus. In 2026, the fund is in the second year and the Board elected to not pull funds from the endowment. The Newman Center currently hosts an 8 person FOCUS team on campus at a cost of approximately $100,000 per year.
